microbiomesupport VR
the secret rulers of the world
An immersive VR-documentation in 360 Stereo, build and rendered in Blender
The Project
Within a group of amazing Blender artists we assembled this educational VR-documentary about the world of microbiomes.
Through the Stereoscopic view we had the chance to give a feeling of the proportions from this microscopic world. So we made 1 µm to 1 Meter. Therefore one bacteria is around 1 to 5 Meters tall and a dandelion stem has a diameter of 40 kilometers.
I had the opportunity to contribute in a variety of roles. From screenwriting, to 3D production to compositing, editing and finally color grading. The whole process was done in 6K.
Blenders Geometry Nodes
These natural environments can get quiet complicated. Blender just came up with their Geometry nodes these days, and so we took some extra time to learn them as fast as possible i order to build some of these structures procedurally.
We could use them for things like roots, but also for some generic animated bacteria to flood them all over the place.
